Mitsubishi ESKA CK Series

Mitsubishi ESKA CK Series are the unsheathed end glow fiber strands with an attenuation of 0.2dB/M. At 25 meters, the light transmission loss is about 68%. Its minimum bend radius is 10 times of its diameter.

This unsheathed single core fiber strand is also known as the bare fiber tail. Its core material is PMMA (Polymethyl-Methacrylate Resin, Acrylic) with Fluorinated Polymeras as the cladding material. The fiber strand itself does not emit light or contain any color as it just transmits the light from one end to the other. The intensity and color of the transmitted light depends on the light engine (also known as the light source, projector, illuminator) and the fiber strands attenuation rate.

The common diameter of single core PMMA fiber is 0.5mm, 0.75mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm and 3.0mm. For Mitsubishi ESKA CK series of fiber strands, the longest recommended length is about 25 meters if it is powered by our 80W fiber optic light engine.

  Usually we recommend the longest length of CK series is about 25 meters to 30 meters. Driven by our 80W light engine, LEI-8001, the performance of the fiber tail, CK-30, at 50 meters and 25 meters is shown in the picture:

- Bare Fiber Tail
  
  The single core PMMA optical fiber strands have no covering sheath. During installation and use, special care should be taken to the strands not to touch any solid objects or to bear pressure to prevent scratching or crushing.
- Ambient Temperature
  
  The ambient temperature of the POF is - 55 ℃ -+70 ℃. When the ambient temperature is high, such as that in the sauna room, it is recommended to use the fiber strands with PVC sheath and ceiling end fittings.
